Restrictions in North Korea
Did government supervision of Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú journalists in North Korea place restrictions on the coverage? And listeners welcome what they see as an underrated musical genre to the network.
Journalists from the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú World Service were recently invited to witness and report on the 70th anniversary celebrations of the North Korea’s Workers’ Party. However, reporters were only allowed to source stories under the heavy supervision of North Korean authorities. And after last week’s announcement of three new music programmes on the network – the global audience share their appreciation for what in their eyes is an underrated genre of music.
