Danniella Westbrook: Women addicted to abusers
Actress Danniella Westbrook has called for increased funding for refuges for women who have experienced domestic abuse. In the past four years, 32 have closed, many more are under threat and cuts have reduced services at those remaining. Danniella described how some women were "addicted" to the men abusing them, in the same way she was with drugs. Lucy Pleass experienced domestic abuse and now works for Women's Aid in south east London - she said that for every woman they could take in, they were having to turn away about 10 others.
