Guests discuss Labour shadow cabinet reshuffle

With Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn in the midst of reshuffling his shadow cabinet, Tuesday's guests of the day discussed the changes being made to the party's top team.

Ex-shadow chancellor Chris Leslie criticised Michael Dugher's sacking as shadow culture secretary, and warned that "there is a sort of natural impetus among the hard left who want to tighten their control" and to "sideline moderate voices".

But defending Mr Corbyn, Cat Smith, junior shadow minister for women and equalities, said he had every right to make changes to his team, and was in a "strong position".

The SNP's Tommy Sheppard said the Parliamentary Labour Party needed to recognise that Mr Corbyn had a mandate to lead the party, but that he also had to show some leadership himself.
