Hunt: The BMA have been 'totally irresponsible'
The Health Secretary, Jeremy Hunt, has accused the doctors' union, the BMA, of "totally irresponsible behaviour" in how it has handledthe dispute by junior doctors.
Speaking to Andrew Marr Marr, Mr Hunt said the union had refused to sit down and discuss patient care and accused it of spreading misinformation about pay and conditions.
He admitted that more needs to be done to improve the morale of junior doctors but he said their anger had been fuelled by the BMA wrongly telling them that their pay would be cut and they would have to work longer hours under the Government's proposals.
