‘SATs tests have no bearing on what children do later on’
The new set of SATs tests for 6 and 7 year olds in England are being criticised by some head teachers and parents for being too hard.
We spoke to Laura Evans Vogel who has got two children at primary school and is a teacher herself, Mark Tuffney who is Head Teacher at Lowther Primary School in London, Helena Rooney an Assistant Head at Little Ealing Primary, Jenny Veitch whose son Harry is at primary school and Jonathan Simons who is a former government adviser on education.
