In a statement, the RAC says "we’d like to apologise to Megan for the shock she received. Our system should not have shown her this price and neither should our agent have confirmed it over the phone. The changes she made to her policy mid-term led to the insurer quoting an erroneous price. We are making changes to avoid this happening again".
