What measures are in place at schools to deal with bullying?
It has been long thought that bullying can have a negative effect on our mental health but recent research has managed to prove it. In the largest brain scan study of its kind, it was shown that being bullied in childhood can have lasting effects on brain structures leading to poor mental health as an adult. Presenter Riyadh Khalaf finds out about the ‘KiVa’ programme, which works by involving the entire school community in anti-bullying learning. It was initially developed in Finland but is now being trialled in some schools in the UK and Riyadh speaks to teachers who are overseeing this to find out more about their latest results.
