Now and then his path crosses that of A Unit. The fact that he is afraid of conflict doesn’t help when he has to investigate his old colleagues’ activities. Paul is brave and loyal, and work always coming first, but he is questioning the toll this has taken on his life and health.

Divorced, he has two teenage children he hardly sees. His best friend is , but Paul has also developed a close relationship with , which is kept a secret as the series begins. Paul has difficulty expressing his true feelings.
