Kids Saving the Rainforest
KSTR began in 1999 in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica when Janine Licare and Aislin Livingstone were 9 years old. Janine and Aislin saw the rainforest disappearing from their beloved home and the negative impact of this on the animals, particularly the endangered squirrel monkeys.
They were kids inspired to save the precious rainforest and from small beginnings selling homemade trinkets to tourist the foundation was set for what was to become Kids Saving the Rainforest.
Nosara Wildlife Refuge
NWF centre is dedicated to getting howler monkeys back into the wild after often traumatic events. Although the Nosara Wildlife Refuge doesn鈥檛 feature in the series, NWF work closely with the Sibu Sanctuary, who take animals and release them into the wild surroundings of the Nicoya peninsular.
Sibu Sanctuary were also a great help during filming with a range of wildlife found in the Nosara area.
