Harriet Hammond

After a successful career at a Human Rights Charity, Harriet has joined Shoe Lane as Practice Manager after Billy’s actions nearly cost Chambers its future.

Clinical but business-like, Harriet does things by the book – building a relationship with the CPS to bring prosecution cases into chambers. She logs them correctly and always follows the ‘system’. This causes problems with Billy as she tries to make changes which aren’t necessarily welcomed by everyone in Shoe Lane.

As Chambers look to the future, politically astute Harriet believes the future lies in prosecuting, naturally aligning her with Clive.

Despite the antagonism with Billy, Harriet’s hands-on management style appeals to some of the junior clerks as her likeable nature and nurturing attitude bolsters their confidence and self-worth.
