She's got the X Factor, but has she got the skills for Strictly? Let's get to know the incredible Fleur East...
Fleur rose to fame when she placed second in the 2014 series of hit ITV talent show The X Factor, but she had actually auditioned many years before in 2005, as part of girlband Addictiv Ladies. The group made it through to the live shows, but were eliminated in week one, seeing Fleur return to university to study journalism and contemporary history.
Music never left her life though, as she sent a demo off to DJ Fresh and ended up singing with him in the Radio 1 Live Lounge and on an extensive tour in 2012. Fleur was also signed to record label Strictly Rhythm and released solo music while waitressing in a London nightclub to keep herself afloat.
In 2014 she auditioned for The X Factor again, this time as a solo artist, and the rest is history. Fleur made it all the way to the grand final, just losing out to winner Ben Haenow. Her widespread acclaim on the show saw her bag a record deal with Syco and release single Sax, which hit number three in the charts and stayed in the top 10 for seven weeks.
Since finding success in the music world, Fleur has also starred on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, been part of the Saturday Night Takeaway presenting team, hosted ITV gameshow The Void, appeared in three episodes of Ted Lasso, and has fronted The Hits Radio Breakfast Show with Fleur East since 2019 - the same year she married her husband Marcel in Morocco.
Fast forward to 2022 and she's ready and raring to hit the Strictly dance floor!
