Malachy Griffin
Mal is the consultant obstetrician at the Holy Family hospital.
He has worked hard to build up his reputation and is now the doctor of choice for well-to-do ladies in Dublin.
When they were growing up, Mal had to compete with Quirke for their father鈥檚 affection. Decades later Mal is still trying to win his father鈥檚 approval. Mal finally achieved victory over Quirke when Sarah agreed to marry him twenty years ago. Although they鈥檝e been married for many years and have a daughter, Phoebe, Mal resents the affection that Sarah still holds for Quirke.
Nick Dunning
Nick Dunning has received critical acclaim in his many theatre, film and television roles. He is best known for his portrayal of Thomas Boleyn in , for which he won an Irish Film and Television Award for Best Supporting Actor.
Nick recently appeared as Reverend Garrett in Hatfields & McCoys alongside Kevin Costner and Bill Paxton, and as Lupo Mercuri in the action adventure series Da Vinci鈥檚 Demons. He also starred as Jim in ITV鈥檚 drama series Leaving.
Nick received rave reviews in the acclaimed production of Harold Pinter鈥檚 No Man鈥檚 Land with Michael Gambon, and won the Irish Times Theatre Award for Best Actor for his role in Don Carlos.
His film work includes the role of Attalus in Oliver Stone鈥檚 Alexander The Great, and James Prior in the award-winning film The Iron Lady, with Meryl Streep.
