Nikki Bedi is backstage at LSO St. Luke鈥檚 in London speaking to the performers and composers as they get ready for a 麻豆官网首页入口 Open Ear concert of cutting edge experimental classical music.

Piano and percussion duo George Barton and Siwan Rhys perform an extract of Good Day Good Day, Bad Day Bad Day by Oliver Leith and explain it was inspired by obsessive compulsive disorder.

Larry Goves, founder of the ensemble The House of Bedlam, tells Nikki about his composition Happy/Boomf/Fat which requires the artists to vocalise and whistle while eating marshmallows and performer Kathryn Williams describes what it鈥檚 like attempting to sing while munching chewy sticky sweets. Larry and Kathryn also talk about their new piece, Untitled, which features corks and bearing balls.

Gregor Ridell is a classically trained cellist and Adam Teixeira has a jazz background, together they form the duo Birdworld. They tell Nikki about their first meeting in a hut in the Rockies and about their DIY field recordings.

Soprano Jessica Aszodi discusses singing Natasha Anderson鈥檚 composition More and Liza Lim鈥檚 work Atlas of the Sky. She also describes why she feels like a demented jukebox when she performs Jennifer Walshe鈥檚 piece G.L.O.R.I.
