I hereby resolve to blog...

For a long time now I've wanted to do this, but I've never understood why. I still don't.

As 2005 came to an end, I struggled with one of the most difficult questions I've recently had to think on. For the past few weeks I've lurched from one answer to another convinced it had to be witty, thought provoking and cool. Finally, as I got ready to go back to work after the winter break, I settled on a name for me and my blog.

So here I am at last. Deregulated. The clue is in the question, or rather the clue is in the answer.

I've little idea as to what this will be about. A view from the village. Some news. One opinion. I'll do my best to write regularly. You can tell me what you think. I see a kind of patient/psychiatrist relationship developing. I'll book my first appointment soon.

Hello and Happy New Year! Good to see someone from Iona back. I don't know why you had such high ideas of what a blog had to be, haven't you read any of the drivel I subject everyone to? you're right though it's very theraputic.

Sunny from Arran

Welcome! The Sacred Isle has been bereft of a blogger for a while now. As usual we ask people to write to us at islandblogging@bbc.co.uk to make contact. regards Mike

Hmm...could make for an interesting case!!! My advice is to just get it all off your chest. More bloggin = more therapy. I have to concur with Sunny, there is mostly drivel on this site, I have taken much pride in writing drivel beyond that thought possible. So welcome, we are aw aff weir heid here anyway, so draw up a chair and make yourself at home.

I must concur with Sunny and Calumannabel - the more drivel the better! It's all part of some secret care in the community experiment, I'm sure. Glad you could join us!
