ness art group

I have still been going to the art group on Tuesdays and persevering with bleeding acrylic paints, though there were times when that phrase had another meaning and sever tone……

to get me started another member of the group showed me (on my paper) how to lay in the first wash, so sorry but I forgot to take a photo (I’m really quite mad with myself for no taking a photo of it), at home I made a start then decided to wait till the group met again to check I was going in the right direction,

I was told I was so did some more at the meeting,

I didn’t get any more done at home so took it with me this week and (hopefully) finished it,

I still have lots to learn but it is a great improvement on the first one I did
I am very grateful to the art group because it is due to going and all the help and support I have had that I have been able to do this, thanks.

How very interesting to go back to the previous picture and compare and contrast, IT. I never would have thought they were so different, you are learning fast and its fascinating to watch. (By the way, now you've laid in the first wash, I think Lerwick Trevor could do with some handy household hints)...

If you go to www.talens.com you'll find step by step painting courses and tons of info and help! The best thing to remember is that you can always paint over something if you don't like it with Acrylics, that's the beauty of them! So don't wait until the class, experiment an learn from your lucky mistakes :) So glad you are enjoying it! Fantastic progression!

I was surprised at how different they were too FC. I think what is helping me is that this group meet weekly and people have shown how to begin a painting, I often find with tutors that they assume you have certain previous knowledge and so start from a base know to them but quite often not to the student (or not this student), there is no tutor in the group just likeminded people enjoying what they do and helping each other,

Well done! :) You have a great feeling for the light in this painting.

Julie Mackinder from Grantham UK

thanks Sunny and Julie for your supportive comments, Julie that is the light here except when there is a gale (as there is now, thurs night), the light here is amazing especially as it gets closer to the longest day and then i never need to shut the curtains or put a light on, one of my favs of living here,
