painting and stitching

I tried to finish off the Benbecula paintings and have realised I don鈥檛 think I showed where this all started,

the original drawing done on the sand dunes at Linoclete,

the tutor gave us homework one weekend to use our sketches and make pictures with cut papers one in cool colours so I used the Benbecula drawing and used mostly magazine papers,

last week when I was at Jane鈥檚 Blue Pig studio I worked some more on the textured one,

then this week at the Tuesday art group I tried to straighten up and improve the thin painted one,

went to figure drawing weds eve and enjoyed it but didn't like my drawing so bined it,

I am stitching too though nothing much to show but here鈥檚 a peek at some felt I am stitching with cups and crosses,

When working in the garden this afternoon I found the remains of some creatures rabbit snack, there wasn鈥檛 much left just one leg joint and a seriously clean bone (back?) just wondering what creature on the island would make such a good clean job of it, no sign of any struggle or fight, no blood on the ground, recent too as the blood on the bone hadn鈥檛 had time to dry, I鈥檓 curious,

Much in this one, IT! I too like #2, even more so in the light of guzzisue's comment. The rabbit puzzle - maybe Soaplady's mink on an outing?

Bird of prey?

weird isn't it but I like 2 as well yet it is just cut magazine pages and done in a jiffy, I don't like the foreground though it is too plain for the rest, Jane said to paint some texture (there goes that word again) into the foreground, maybe one day but not now, I started some flowers at the art group meeting this morning (tues), FC that is what I was thinking especially as there was no skull, there are birds of prey on the moor out back,

It's amazing how many ways you can do the same picture and come up with something different every time... The felt looks interesting - you would love the exhibition currently on in Shetland's magnificent museum gallery...will post pics when the weather gets worse!

Fc on Shetland! I hope your fpu had a nice time, doing the same picture different ways is, so I am told, called streching yourself....I have/am thinking of a tweed one,
