white van

about a month ago there came from outside the sound of whoops and yells and laughter, later I saw a white van parked on the grass at the side of my garden near the peat track, I thought it was probably holidaymakers who had gone for a walk along the peat track (this happens sometimes in the season), when it was still there the following morning I thought maybe someone was camping overnight on the moor, when it was still there a week later I suspected the worst….it’s been dumped,

well just after I got back from art club this lunchtime a lorry came and now it is gone….yippeeeee…..

I can't believe you didn't harbour a burning desire to become the White Van Woman of Ness, IT!

Flying Cat from oh look, a Flying Van!

Did you check whether there was a body in the van? There wasn't? It had been moved while you slept?!?

mjc from NM,USA

no FC no desire to be a dreaded white van maniac, mjc I didn't check for bodies though after the skeleton in the tent on the mainland I guess it's possible,

the group of young men going round the island picking up the scrap are doing a great job. It's amazing to see how productive they can be when there's a chance of making money on scrap. Good on them :-)

mmmm, maybe i take that last statement back after sitting in front of the gossips on the bus....apparently they've been taking veicles they have no right to take as well and as they crush them the same day there are a few folk who are not so happy with this service.

tanith from point

tanith, I didn't realise I assummed it was the council, definately good on them and thanks,

tanith, just read your second comment ~ oh dear, however not the case with this white van as it had been dumped there for a month before it was removed and cars do not have parking rights on the grazing which this ground is,

I left a comment here saturday but it seems to be lost in the spam machine, tanith ~oh dear~ the white van near me was dumped it had been there a month and no one near this end of the village has a white van,

Tanith I have been told that people who want a vehicle taken as scrap have been requested to leave them where 'the boys' can pick them up easily such as at the end of peat roads, which is where this one was so perhaps it had been put there to be collected, I have only just learnt about the scheme which I think is a good one, I am sure they would not be taking any vehicles that are taxed and in service, like you say 'the gossips' rather like the children's game chinese whispers,
