Baba Sikander (Mithun Chakraborty) is a villain involved with drugs, murder and extortion. Living in a hideout somewhere in Europe, Baba is the most wanted criminal by the Indian police.

During one of his extortion rackets, he kills Kantilal Shah, a rich businessman based in India.

Karan, his adopted son, decides to avenge his murder by bringing Baba back to India - alive.

Karan comes across Priya (Amisha Patel), an ambitious reporter who is out to get the biggest story for her newspaper.

To achieve her goal, she tries to use her devious ways with Karan but only to end up falling in love with the guy and assisting him in his mission.

Meanwhile, Karan seeks the help of Arjun, (Arjun Rampal), an ex-police officer, Abhimanyu (John Abraham), who worked for Baba at one time and Sonia, (Lara Dutta) Abhimanyu's girlfriend.

Together, all five set out on a mission to capture this dreaded terrorist. How they achieve their target forms the crux of this action-packed movie.

Rahul Khanna makes his Bollywood commercial debut in Elaan from previous crossover films. He appears to be cool and calm - just what his character demands.

John Abraham's acting is just superb. His fluency with the Mumbai accent adds a great screen presence to Abhimanyu.

Arjun Rampal, as the ex-police officer, proves yet again that he is a true Bollywood star. His acting skills in the recently released Vaada has certainly not gone un-noticed by the audience.

Amisha Patel plays her role as the newspaper reporter with conviction whilst Lara Dutta looks fantastic as the bar dancer.

However, there is one flaw which can be overseen. The director portrays the 'jail break' as being too easy a job for these unlikely heroes. More thought should have been put into this sequence to add authencity to the story.

But having said this, Vikram Bhatt has made this movie with great style and panache. If Bollywood is to match Hollywood's high standards, then Elaan definitely takes the trophy!

A lot of effort has obviously been put into finding the right locations and filming the fight sequences.

Examples of these include the boat chase through Venice's canals, which leads to a thrilling run through Venice's streets.

Then, we have the bike rescue through Dolomite Mountains to a nerve racking ambush in a mountain chateau.

We can rightly say that no expense have been spared by the producer!

Latest statistics shows Elaan is still an excellent earner at the UK box office. So go聟see the movie. It will not disappoint.
