Gracing
the red carpet at the Berlinale gala screening for his film, Om Shanti Om, King
Khan was on top form. Thousands
of European fans gathered at the cinema and the surrounding streets to catch a
glimpse of Shah Rukh Khan, who took time to chat to them. Benjamin
Bach, Eros International, commented: "It's a great excitement to bring Om
Shanti Om to Berlin Film Festival, as it is the epitome of Bollywood. "Eros
has always enjoyed a fantastic relationship with Shah Rukh Khan and it is our
pleasure working with him for Om Shanti Om." Bach
further added: "We will be releasing Om Shanti Om in Germany soon after the
festival, and we are sure Germany will love it." Om
Shanti Om is the tale of a film actor 'Om' (Shah Rukh Khan) and his love interest
'Shanti' (Deepika Padukone). Set
in the glittering 1970's Bollywood, Om Shanti Om moves to the modern day. Paying
spectacular homage to the classic Bollywood formula that was inherent in the films
of the 1970s, Om Shanti Om consists of the talents of Shah Rukh Khan and director
Farah Khan in a cinematic extravaganza about love, dreams, betrayal and destiny.
The
film brings together over 30 of Bollywood's hottest stars including Salman Khan,
Rani Mukherjee, Kajol, Sanjay Dutt, Priyanka Chopra, Preity Zinta, Saif Ali Khan
and many more, putting in a guest appearance in the film's most popular title
song never seen before in Hindi cinema. King
Khan was overwhelmed by the rapturous response received from over 500 fans waiting
to catch a glimpse of their favourite Bollywood hero in the cold February air.
The event was
a total success. |
