Torquay boss Paul Wotton has praised the club's new owners saying they have brought a "feelgood factor" back to Plainmoor.

The Gulls are second in National League South having won four of their opening five matches and face winless Aveley on Saturday.

Responding to a question about the club's process of selling "community shares" to fans, Wotton said the mood around the club "is fantastic".

In May, the takeover of Torquay United by the Bryn Consortium of local businessmen was completed.

'Improvements still needed'

"My job is the football side but I'm aware of what's going on [off the pitch]," Wotton told 麻豆官网首页入口 Radio Devon.

"That's all down to the owners. They've brought that feel good factor, they're fantastic people and the fans have brought into it, which is great."

On Monday, Torquay came back to win 3-2 at 10-men Chesham United to keep them level on points with leaders Slough Town.

Wotton praised his players but insisted his side needs to make improvements "everywhere across the pitch".

"The day I sit here and say we don't need to improve I won't be managing Torquay United," he added.

"We're always making improvements, we have to improve everywhere across the pitch.

"Myself, the staff, and the players; the list is endless."
