Guernsey FC boss Tony Vance says he is "seeing progress" in his struggling side, despite an eighth loss of the season on Saturday.

The Green Lions went down 2-1 at home to Rayne Park Vale as they failed to win at Footes Lance for the 14th successive game.

Guernsey are second from bottom in Isthmian League South Central with one win and two draws from their 11 games.

"We are seeing progress, we're playing some good football," the Green Lions manager told Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Radio Guernsey.

"But to put it in perspective, the team we're playing will be in the play-offs and at the moment we're in the bottom two and there's not much between us.

"We've got to keep working, keep doing what we're doing and I'm genuinely quite pleased with how we're playing - it's just we need to put teams to bed.

"The other night we were 2-0 up [against Uxbridge] and should have been probably been three or four, but we let the team back in [the matched ended 2-2]."

Vance is continuing to blood younger players as he looks to build his squad's experience of the eighth tier.

Fin Du Port scored for the second successive match while Jacques Cauvin also continued his recent run of games in the side.

"All teams in this league can just go and sign anybody they like, and that's what they tend to do," Vance said.

"We're working on a different project, a different type of situation, we've just got to keep working at it.

"Rome wasn't built in a day and this is a two, three-year project for us to take us to the new stadium.

"This is the level we are at the moment, so there's going to be no dream tickets in terms of going and just winning games.

"You can't do that in this league so we'll just keep working at our own philosophy and keep trying to improve year on year."
