2003: Saddam Hussein Captured
Saddam Hussein, the ousted President of Iraq, is captured by US soldiers on 14 December 2003.
The former Iraqi dictator was found in a tiny bunker at a farmhouse about 10 miles outside of his home town, Tikrit.
Hussein has not been seen since US forces had entered Baghdad in April 2003, despite one of the most intensive manhunts in history.
At a press conference, Prime Minister Tony Blair states: 鈥淲e have a common interest, coalition forces and Iraqi people. Our purpose is a shared purpose, our victory is a shared victory.鈥
