In this extract from a local Northern Ireland programme, Jim Thompson speaks with great affection and pride about working as a caulker on the Titanic.
He says he felt privileged to work on the steamer and truly believed she was unsinkable. He also compares finding out about the accident to hearing about "a death in your own home".
The picture shows the Titanic being constructed on no. 3 slipway in the Belfast shipyard of Harland & Wolff.
The largest shipyard in the world, it had a workforce of 15,000, of whom more than 3,000 were employed in the construction of the Titanic.
