The tiny island of Príncipe in the Gulf of Guinea has been the site of a celebration of one of the greatest scientific discoveries of the 20th century.

A team of British, Portuguese and Brazilian astronomers have visited the island to commemorate an expedition which took place in 1919 to observe the total solar eclipse which helped prove Einstein's theory of relativity, effectively making him famous.

Network Africa's Maimouna Jallow reports.
