 Equipment Recording is fairly straightforward but you do need to be able to get your hands on a few things.
Microphone - There are a number of good microphones on the market including Sennheiser, Sony, Audio Technica and Beyer and their catalogues have useful advice on application and recording techniques. Recording Device - There are many types of sound recorders you can use including Flash Card recorder, Mini-Disk, DAT recorder, Reel to Reel tape recorder, Cassette recorder, Dictaphone, Video camera (sound only), PC with recording software and inputs. PC - To do your editing on, or possibly even to record onto. And to send your masterpiece to us from! We would prefer you to send your contribution electronically so the key thing to check before you begin recording is, can you transfer what you record easily to a PC? However we are keen to receive all your stuff so if the worst comes to the worst post us a cassette! |
