Ben studied Composition and Conducting at GSMD winning the Lutoslawski composition prize upon graduation. He went on to study for his MA in Film Composition in Film & Television School.

Since November 2005, he has been orchestrator and conductor for the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú series Doctor Who. Other work as an orchestrator includes the films, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Alien Autopsy, Death at a Funeral and 27 Dresses as well as a number of Commercials including the recent British Airways campaign, Sony Paint and the 2007 Sony Walkman.

Ben has worked as an arranger and conductor for a wide range of artists including Hayley Westenra, Aled Jones, Gary Barlow, SClub7 and Boyzone. He works regularly with the London Session Orchestra and the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú National Orchestra of Wales and has also worked with the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Philharmonic, RPO and the Czech Film Orchestra.

Work as a composer includes over 30 scores for various European Short Film makers. TV credits include main titles for LWT's Love on a Saturday Night, The Great British Test, and the current arrangement of Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú's Question Time. Ben also writes music for the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú drama Torchwood which was nominated in the Best Music category in the 2006 BAFTA Cymru Awards.

Ben was a judge on the Blue Peter Music Makers project in 2006 and a contributor to the Blue Peter Movie Makers project in 2007.
