Climate movement
The climate movement refers to non-governmental organisations engaged in activism related to climate change. Many social media campaigns are running to encourage people to take a stance and pressurise governments across the world into doing more to halt the rate of global warming and the damage done to the environment.
In recent years, teenager Greta Thunberg has led the worldwide campaign Fridays for Future to protest against the lack of action on what activists have termed 鈥榯he climate crisis鈥.
The 2021 campaign is being backed by UN Climate Change and the An organisation set up between Governments to monitor the causes, effects and management of climate change.. This campaign is striving for a strong outcome from the UN Climate Change Conference COP26 in Glasgow in October 2021.
