SORRY ABOUT YESTERDAY AND WELCOME TO TODAY.

Chris Evans | 09:41 UK time, Wednesday, 24 October 2007

Still haven't knowingly missed a blog as such but...

... yesterday no one could get in, not even I.

Today though, it seems we are fixed, so here goes.

I was lying in the bath looking out of the window at the weather this morning, the day was, as yet, undecided. Next, it was my belly, which has lost it's bulk - a good thing but in doing so has become a little "fleshy," - a bad thing. Then I started wondering how long my magic lotion had been revitalising my scalp for and whether it was time to wash it out. Finally, as the water continued to cooI, I plumped on the subject of faith.

I hardly know anything but I'm interested in everything and at the moment I'm focused on faith. So what this ends up meaning is that I read a lot of books, great books by very clever people and then end up totally convinced of anything they say. I'm like an opinionless piece of dough - d'oh !

"The God Delusion" is having it's wicked way with me at the moment, so far it's got me to thinking I'm a pantheist. I'll be more confused for you tomorrow.

Happy Humpday folks....... that's if this makes it through the ether. Mr E how deep was that bath water? Pantheist - I would agree with that. Well I have been absent from the blog for a good few months, but for some reason in the bath last night, i decided today I would re visit! I am pleased to see the blog still gets you thinking!

I have always had big confusions about faith, I have faith and that leads me to have hope. I have never found a religion to fit my faith though. I feel some pieces of some and some of others! The problem is my faith is something I cannot really argue or reason with its just fact what I feel, the only thing I can compare it too is the way I love my son. It doesnt matter what he does I love him, there is no choice or debate to be had it is just fact. Thats like my faith, its not something I have decided, for better or worse its there!

Other than that I am enjoy the cold and its romance, untill january when i will be praying for spring!

I can say thank you anywhere to him above I don't have to be in church to do it.

I caught the Heston Burger discussion with Wogan this morning but didn't see the programme last night.

I ended up watching the last Silent Witness that featured Amanda Burton, it was a feature length story set in Ireland with lots of flashbacks to 20 years before with the finding of two bodies - who turned out to be brothers holding hands - very poignient indeed.

    Greetings and Salutations from Vancouver,

Having been away from the blog for a while, merely as a contributor as I am still an avid reader, it feels good to be back. After a rough year, things are heading in the right direction.

With regards to The God Delusion, it truly is a fascinating read. My main and ongoing contention with Professor Dawkins is his inability to afford others the luxury of respect, and I mean truly respect their right to differ in opinion rather than merely paying lip service to such a notion.

My first degree was in Theology and I too am fascinatined by ecclesiastical conundrums, philosophical musings and in general, that which makes me think. Thought is the preamble to opinion and as such, a critical part of the human condition.

Anyway, enough of that serious stuff for now. I hope that each and every one of you and yours is well, healthy and basking in the glory of this thing we call life.

I then grew up enough to make the decision to stop going to church, however I never stopped believing in a greater being or power. However, I decided that the judgemental thing was just told to us in bible-study to keep us good, and was quite frankly phooey!

In short, I believe in something, but it my not necessarily be "GOD", however, I do believe that faith only gets screwed up when people try to direct other people's beliefs to match their own.

I believe that all those that believe in a higher power are all believing in the same thing, they just call it something different depending upon the paths they have been guided down by their elders in the past!
