THE BOY DID WELL, V.V.V.V.V. WELL
So last night I spent the evening with two of my favorite...
... men.
Paul blimmin' McCartney - genius and Stephen merchant - genius. I sat next to the latter whilst watching the former.
McCartney was awesome, no really really awesome. What a show, what a treat, what a great pleasure and he came for a drink afterwards ! Seriously he was the absolute bollocks. I told him a story about how he was the first person I ever noticed becoming forty. I heard it on the radio and I thought, "I can't believe one of The Beatles is forty !" And there I was last night, myself at the age of forty one now, watching him at the age of 64. It still doesn't sound right that does it ?
He said he knew exactly what I meant and he remembered when he heard Marylin Monroe was forty feeling the same way.
Merchant was on absolute tip top form. He is so funny, proper funny, he's easily the funniest person I've ever met, effortless, he lives in a 100 % comedy world, everything he sees is funny. Most comedians are dull as ditch water but not Mr. Merchant, oh no, we met his girlfriend as well, an absolute cracker.
So the wife got a kiss off Macca and I got to cry for forty five minutes whilst listening to the greatest living musician sing the songs that formed my outlook on life. Add to this to the fact I woke up at half past eleven this morning in a hotel I can't even remeber checking into and I suppose you could say we had quite a good night.

I have never been a fan of Paul Mc Cartney but I'm sure he is a very very nice man.
I find his music bland. The latest "Everybody goin to dance tonight" sounds like a cross between Postman Pat and the Bonzo Dog doo da band to me. Band on the Run was awful too.Infact what has he written that was any good after the Beatles split?
The Beatles together with John Lennon, George Harrison, Ringo now thats altogether different.

Seems it's the season of gigs. have two booked, Jools Holland at the corn exchange cambridge and Meatloaf Wembley. Soooooo looking forward to both, but guess what? We've been duped and boy are the karma police going to be busy! "Company" we purchased tickets from for Jools only went bust found out yesterday hacked off is not the word. Bad people. No redress. Nothing. Zilch, no Jools. Bummer.

My girlfriend told me about an interview Crhis did on Friday 26th Ocotber about a device to take air out oif water to improve the efficiency of central heating systems. Where can I find out more? I'm very interested in offering the best there is to reduce energy in homes as part of my carbon reduction consultancy.

Methinks the vino affected your powers of recall regarding Marylyn - must have been a good night though - was it the one with Stu McC interviewing him - will try and catch up on view again on t'interclacker. Had a similar hotel experience in London a month or two ago - couldn't remember the name of the hotel I was booked into! Miles of walking and 4 taxi rides later I was there!

What's the contact for the bloke with the device to take oxygen out of the water to imnprove the efficiency of central heating systems? I can totally recomend Mavrodapne, the sweet Greek red wine mentioned on Monday nights show. I first bout it years ago following a recomendation from Jilly Goulden on that cookery show she did with Oz Clark and some other guy. At less than £4.00 and 15% proof, it's a great drink. Get it at Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury's. Fab with Christmas pudding or on its own! Try some.

It's hard to question such an expert in their field of expertise but when he says it's not this, that, or the other I find it almost rude to then say "well that's great telling me what it isn't - but what IS it???"
Oh well, nights tonight so I'll be nice and grumpy tomorrow anyway....

An extra hour in bed one and all
But I'm still exhausted. It was the central heating installers you see. They arrived yesterday at 0830 and left after 21.30. They had a few problems and kept asking me to look at pipe work couplings and what I thought about it? Well I don't actually know I said, it's all chinese to me. We sprung a major leak when they tested it, water running down the down to the rooms below. In short the house looks more of a wreck than ever but it is warm!
If I could meet my hero it would be that handy Andy guy from DIY SOS. I wonder if he can sing too? Probably be better than some of the X factor contestants I'll be bound.

But I have been listening and lurking. I think Chris`s idea for making the most of the films on TV is a good one - it`s a couples thing, picking and recording the best of. Films are a great source of entertainment when you have mediocre TV. Build up a collection of films. I was hoping, in vain, a cosy black and white film would be on TV this afternoon, perhaps an Ealing comedy.
I have started drinking again folks, I’m ashamed to say, it happened not long after my last blog, when I got back to my flat which is fast becoming more like a part of the set of East Enders every day. I think the police may rent one of the flats in the block to save on fuel. I hardly ever swear, there is no need to. I think you should save some words for when they are really apt. Words can be powerful, respect them. But to my neighbour’s shouting and fighting in the hall way and using the f and other choice words is all they know. Oh by the way the Citroen is off to the knackers yard soon, the housing association have told me it has to go.
I’ve been reading Billy Piper’s auto biography and found out where digging a pond came from, CLP dug his own pond which he was rightly very proud of.
I’m going to stay down in Kent for a few days and remember the World.
When all is said and done, no matter how few you have, friends are the best.

Liz - (#39 on previous blog) - I've owned two cats and been in your situation.
A new cat/kitten will always be viewed as a threat to the territoryl, aka the house, of your present cat.
Normally if you just leave them to become accept each other they will over a course of anything from a few days to a month.
Eventually they will become good friends.
I think it's a good idea too get two cats as they do keep each other company.
I've done it myself as my parents ave too.

Still no sign of whats in the bump trying to get out, was due yesterday, so the ole nerves are a bit shaky, Christy, any chance you can play a few rockin tunes on he prog tomorrow so I can jump round the kithchen in an effort to get things moving?? A town called Malice or Enter Sandman might do.............

If it doesn't just wanted to say Martin, it is really good to hear from you. You have been thought of lots and I hope that you have not been too hard on yourself lately. Martin yesterday has gone and today is a new day and tomorrow is a day to look forward to - can't recall where I heard that before but it is extremely good - keep going.
Liz - I had a 2 yr old male cat and I bought a kitten to keep him company made sure both were male to start with. Brought the kitten into the house to the spare bedroom in a cat basket and let my other cat into the room - then supervised the relationship for a while - luckily my 2 yr old cat is laid back and friendly and took to the kitten - but the kitten knows who is the boss. Try not to make too much of a fuss of the kitten as the other cat will get the hump - you need to make more fuss of him until they are used to each other - suggest supervision then leave in the same room together, then widen to rest of house. The only problem I have found is when the new cat is female and a female will always rule in the house no matter what age.
