Hooray it's the weekend!!!!!

Rachel
Hello,

Blimey just read Aled's blog…he's gone a bit corporate! How rude that's my role. Saying that I think he gave a good insight into the playlist meeting….music decided whilst eating muffins. What he didn't tell you is that he also spends the meeting reading Heat and OK. No seriously, I respect Aled as a colleague and hold him in high esteem for his position on the committee.

What am I going on about? I think my randomness is because it is Friday.

I really enjoyed the show today, I was totally blown away by the Scissor Sisters performing live. If you didn't hear it make sure you go to listen again they sounded amazing.

So only an hour to go until I'm free for the weekend...hooray! As always I'm going to spend most of my weekend attempting to run. It's the Great North Run in 2 weeks time...aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. I can't believe that I've let myself in for it again. My training was going very well until a couple of weeks when I developed a pain in my knee. Anyway, I had a good pummel from a sports massage person yesterday and you'll be pleased to know that it's feeling a lot better today. I'll be trying out my pain free leg later today. Wish me luck.

Anyway, better get on with some work... the sooner I do the sooner my weekend starts!

PS make sure you listen on Monday. We'll have Mr David Beckham on the show. Phwooooooooaaaaaaaaarrrrr!

This is the greatest show ever.

I listen to you every morning, unfortunately not live because I'm from Caracas, Venezuela and the time difference is five hours.
I'm actually kind of envy of Rachel because she gets to spend three hours five days a week with Chris and Dave, who are absolutely hilarious...
I love Chris's funny voices.
Keep on doing what you do. It's great.

Lots of Love from Venezuela.

I believe if you haven't got anything nice to say then just keep your mouth shut, what do you reckon Paul Bloggs?!

Rachel, I think you are fantastic and you bring as much to the show as any other member of the team.
Keep up the good work girl!

Hi,

Just wanted to slate the idiot banging on about middle class, working class, blah, blah. Rachel, you are not the 'odd one out' at all, and female listeners appreciate that you are not a ladette with vulgar and crude comments. Nothing makes me cringe more. Also, anyone that spells 'you're' as 'your' should be taken off this comments page because they are, quite frankly, thick.

Hi Rachael, I'm sure in real life your a nice person but on the show you are the odd one out, you come across as a middle class strict school teacher...not good.
The rest sound laid back and working class...which is a great recipe for humour....middle class is bad...bad...to the masses.

Hi Rachel & co

I am also doing the GNR next weekend but after a boozy birthday night out on Saturday my hangover turned into a horrid cold and all running has been cancelled for the last 4 days! Starting to panic! Hope your training is going better and good luck to you all! Aiming for a 1hr50 finish time if I recover in time!

Hi Rachel
Just wanted to say i think you and Carrie are great on the show. Without you the big guy wouldn't have anyone to bounce off (!)

Nice to see girls being up for a laugh without being vulgar - such a refreshing change.

BTW don't forget your white shoes and corned beef legs if you're having a night on the toon while you're up here!

Hi everyone at Radio 1.

I am wondering if you guys can do me a favour and tell my fabulous but slighty laid back boyfriend, Mark, to get his finger out of his...you know what! And pop the question. We are going away for a romantic break next week and i think a little encouragement from you guys might just convince him. Call it a sign!!

Many thanks

Just wanted to say, thank god you've moved Rob DJ's Monday Night Pub Quiz back to a reasonable time, i.e, before everyone is parking their cars to get into the office. Now I can get to hear the answers and find out how thick I really am. By the way, why do you all keep torturing yourselves training for the Great North Run. Just get people to sponsor Chris on a pub crawl, you'll make just as much money.

Dear Rachel

Do you really hold Aled in high regard because he simultaneously reads OK and Hello whilst munching on a muffin? I admit that might be a tricky thing to accomplish, but might I suggest that you are setting your sights a bit low?

Also, are you really going to spend the whole weekend trying to run? I have visions of you standing on the pavement in your tracksuit, one leg lifted slightly off the floor, arms ready to pump. You strain to move forwards but your brain is yelling NO!!!!!!!!. It knows what punishment lies ahead.....not the training session itself, but the prospect of heading northwards at this time of year. The temperature is already dropping to dangerously low levels, and the clouds are becoming ever darker.

That's right, Rachel, your subconscious knows, even if you are conscisouly unaware, that it will be grim up north.
