I'm on the train...

Post categories:

Hoop Dogg | 14:59 UK time, Thursday, 21 September 2006

We're in Bristol tonight for some karaoke fun, and the show will be coming from there on Friday morning too.

In the true spirit of blogging here's a tediously-detailed amount of information about our train journey:

11:52 We board at London Paddington. I'm sat with Rachel, Dom, Carrie and Joce. Joce has a megaphone with her but we don't know why. Chris the DJ talent is in First Class away from us normos, for health and safety reasons...

Joce, Dom, Carrie and Rachel - note the megaphone
11:57 Carrie supplies us with some chocolate cornflake minibites.

12:02 Dom realises that his 'freshly prepared fruit collection' from a well-known food retailer wasn't supplied with a spork, so I lend him one. Didn't even ask him for it back at the end.

12:09 WOAH! A train went past us from the other direction. It was really fast! Nearly blew the windows out - insane!

12:12 The girls put their foot down and say Dom isn't allowed a beer in case he ends up muttering something like 'I'm gonna get me some skirt' when he arrives in Bristol.

12:26 We arrive in Reading

12:28 We leave Reading

12:29 We have a discussion about whether the goes to Cardiff. We're not sure. Except Carrie.

12:30 We discuss what our signature dishes would be on Celebrity Masterchef:

Joce - Tuna fried rice
Rachel - Wheat free lasagne with turkey mince
Dom - King prawn and pea risotto finished off with a bit of parmesan and not a little oregano
Carrie - Chocolate mini bites, and a mean spicy sausage tagliatelle

12:34 We discuss what happened to Loyd Grossman since he's not in Celebrity Masterchef or Through the Keyhole anymore, we noticed.

12:36 Rachel says something quite interesting but then says 'this isn't for the blog' :(

Power station
12:40 Rachel has spotted Didcot Power Station - the conversation stops.

12:44 Carrie reminds us that she doesn't really want us to do that Lola song during the karaoke tonight :(

12:45 We put together a wishlist for our rider for the karaoke:

- Beer
- White wine
- Houmous, carrots
- Sarnies, crisps, dips
- Haribo or similar
- Mini burgers
- Chips
- Mini savoury bites from Harrods food hall

12:50 Joce points out some hay

12:55 We pass through Swindon, birthplace of Billie Piper

13:05 Dom is bored and wants to play solitaire on my laptop

13.11 ChippenhamNot the mayor

13.26 Bath

13:26 Dom thinks he's spotted the mayor of Bath on platform 2 but it turns out the mayoral jewellery is in fact a tie.

13:40 We arrive at Bristol

All pretty fascinating stuff there. Listen to the show tomorrow to find if things got any better.

18:34: Nic starts reading Hoop Dogg's blog and wants a megaphone.

18:34 and a couple of seconds: Nic wants some chocolate cornflake thingys too.

18:35: Nic has no idea where the Severn Bridge goes but this isn't surprising. On the way to Fundee in May, there was discussion as to what a bridge over the water was. It was the Forth Bridge...

18:36: Nic realises that she also hates people specifying that 'you're not allowed to blog that!' She also remembers she has seen the power station and wasn't too impressed.

18:36 and a couple of seconds: Nic doesn't think Carrie should sing Lola either...I Will Survive was much better ;)

18:37 Nic finishes reading the blog entry and decides to go make a cup of tea.
