To help with the F1 withdrawal symptoms us F1 fans are suffering with could the 麻豆官网首页入口 not put on a highlights show of the season so far on Sunday afternoon. Or a show which puts together all the features Martin Brundle has done on how a F1 car works. Another idea could be the showing pivotal/exciting races from previous seasons.

We'll miss you in Japan, but sounds great to be doing some Commonwealth commentary.

Oooo, Norwich's first game of the season tonight -- let's hope it's better than this time last year. I'm sure it will be :)!

I'm going to miss the coverage and team for four weeks Jake, and would love someone to take-up on sunil-claire's suggestions! The years with "the other lot" the summer break was a relief, but the new team seem to have really grown into the roles now. The iPad suits your style, DC is getting to the point now that you can see that wasn't such a risk by the 麻豆官网首页入口 but a great choice (found his feet, communicating as well as MB, challenging EJ and you), and EJ is getting more and more EJ like: team managers must duck now when they see him coming! Go have a holiday, and looking forward to Lee stepping into your shoes - does she also get the iPad?

I hate the summer break so much, it's almost as bad as the horrible winter break, which should be banned in my opinion, in fact, there should be an F1 race every fortnight all year round - sod development and testing, let's have more racing!!!!

I missed the weekend's race but I'm now catching up on it via the iPlayer. Do you think it would be possible to leave the content on the iPlayer longer than the standard 7 days? It might help people with their withdrawal symptoms over the break!

For what it's worth, my two bug bears about the 麻豆官网首页入口 coverage are:

> The opening credits. They need some live action spliced in. I know you're including a pre-opener section with live action, which is great, but the opening credits are a bit of a let down following it because they're just graphics (they're good graphics btw, but miss the adrenalin of live action).

> Jonathan's commentating. It's been very frustrating watching the Hungary race coverage because he has a bad habit of talking over Martin and interrupting him. They quite often start to speak at the same time, which I guess is inevitable, but it's very jarring for the listener when you hear Jonathan talking over Martin to get his piece in first.
I know Martin had special hand signals with his previous commentating partners (in fact I think he is quoted as saying the team mate he learned the most from in his career was Murray Walker!!) - do they use such hand gestures today? If not, they really need do as it really seems like Martin is not given the space and respect that his voice deserves.

I hope you consider that to be fair and constructive critism from a BIG fan of the 麻豆官网首页入口 coverage.

Good luck with the Commonwealth games and pre-emptive congrats on the olympics (just like you congratulate Christian Horner on pole before the qualifying..). I guess we can expect you to be one of 麻豆官网首页入口 Sport's big names in a very short while and F1 will be looking for some new faces??

Whilst I am a big fan of Jake and the F1 team, (who have impressivley converted me to becoming a racing fan via some excellent coverage), I am not at all sure why this blog is on here.

I am sure we shall follow Jake's career on the TV without him having to blog it.

I'm not sure where else to post this but the following video on team orders is corrupt - there is no audio and the video is low.

I'm trying to picture this scene in my head and all I'm coming up with is a frightened jake being dragged into the meeting, being forced to sit down at the table, and then a disembodied DC saying "ahhh, Mr Humphrey, we've been expecting you". He was'nt stroking a white cat in this meeting was he?!

Either that, or it sounds like the first time a bunch of Jedi managed to get an inter-universal meeting going, which would probably see EJ given the role of Yoda!!!!!!

Jake, I was wondering if it would be possible to do a piece where one of the presenters (ideally yourself as you represent the average F1 fan rather than an F1 insider like Eddie or DC) follows one of the F1 teams making its journey from the UK to a European race, including the deployment of the motorhomes. McLaren did post a music video showing their motorhome being put together - although it was done more for 'comedy' than being informative. It would be great to see exactly what goes in to transporting the F1 circus around Europe.

It would also be great to get an equivalent piece on what happens to make the flyaway races happen - but as they take less stuff with them I imagine there would not be as much to cover.

I think Jake has become a really fluid presenter, as soon as the camera switches to him and the pressure's on he finds something interesting to talk about. Which is more than can be said for some of the pitwalks which are a bit silly really as we follow Martin getting inane and predictable comments from drivers who don't really want to be interviewed. In fact I've never learned anything juicy from a pitwalk.

I don't mind Legard too much, but his obsession with the timing screen is quite annoying. IT stands to reason that the cars post faster laps as they burn fuel, so perhaps he should watch a few races to review his performance? The talking over Brundle is unforgiveable though, most fans greatly value what MB has to say

James- I can't understand why you're complaining about the fact that Jake writes this blog. I love it, and judging from the comments it usually receives, so do 99% of the people who read it. There have been some fascinating entries, and it's yet another superb aspect of the 麻豆官网首页入口 coverage. I for one would greatly miss it if Jake stopped blogging.

And if you don't like it, well, it's simple- don't read it!

I think this wing fiasco is a disgrace, redbull have passed all tests, they designed a car that passes all tests, and now the FIA are designing new tests, that's like saying if you are classed as a millionaire that's because you have a million dollars. but now we are gana change that you can be a millionaire if you have 100,000. that's like saying all of your goals in football that were scored on the right hand side are no longer goals because we say they aren't.
At the start of the season Mclaren had a Fduct that was questionable. people asked for clarification, it was given so redbull etc had to catchup they did. but now after more then half way thru the season they want to change the rules how a car is built. if redbull cant run their clever wings, because of this that means they will make new wings, then will have to even reduce the efficiency of the rear diffuser as well to balance the car, this is more development and puts ONLY redbull on the back foot as all the rest haven't developed any wings like it, so they are immediately on the pace so to speak. red bulls cars are legal a car worth millions has been developed LEGALLY now they are just saying ohh you guys were to smart, now its illegal, and now millions more to be spent on the car, you will loose because of lack of understanding on the car, and the big 2 teams will win again , helping F1, Bernie gets more cash probalby, and redbull get screwed over.

Red Bull should have the position if their cars are deemed illegal all of a sudden they should continue to race with the wings under full protest, put a sticker on the car saying we were winning to well, so the FIA have change rules to suit our competitors, air the laundry, and then announce their removal from the sport, and go start a new F1 category, using their Uber car, along with other great companies, that can race without any controversy just cause they win.

And Bernie Needs to go, or FOTA need to just break away from F1 altogether , Bernie is ruining F1. he makes tracks pay to have races, they loose money every time and bernie is seen carrying his billions away to the bank.

bernie should get 25% of all profits of the race. the other 75 % should be like this 25% goes to young kids, running a go kart track adjacent, with all things paid for (25% of billions is more then enough to have 50 go karts running) the other 50% 35% goes to the teams in order of finishing after every race , so 1st gets 25 points or 25 million and etc etc. and the track gets a flat fee of 25%. thats what should happen. but bernie gets it all, makes billions in interest then pays BS amounts at the end of the year. BERNIE HAS TO GO, or FOM altogether.
FOTA CAN RUN IT ON THEIR OWN AND LOOK AFTER ALL INCLUDING THE TRACKS

Im pleased that Lee McKenzie will be hosting the Japanese GP.
However you should not apologise for missing the Japanese GP, I remember Steve Rider missing the Japanese GP and ITV choosing Martin Brundle who was alright but did look a bit uncomfortable and Lee has hosted many Motorsport Shows and she will do a superb Job and control DC and EJ!
I do hope that you do well in Delhi, it was superb coverage in Beijing for the Football and I felt that you should have done Olympic Breakfast with Hazel then Brummie Chiles.
Hopefully the 麻豆官网首页入口 F1 Team return refreshed for the next GP in Belgium but 4 weeks without F1 is bad, however the Classic F1 is still around so watch that and Youtube clips of classic F1.

Good comments on here...except nunyabusiness...with a very limited knowledge of how F1 makes money & how Bernie makes money. Bernie doesn't make as much money anymore as he has sold his rights to a company that he works for. FOTA threatned with a breakaway series, but it really can't be setup so quickly. It would take 3 years of planning at the very minimum, and this forgets the prestige that the F1 banner holds. It would require a walkout of all the teams with the backing of their manufactuers boss. It was all discussed last year and there's way too many reasons why it won't go ahead.

Re: nunya buisness ... Red Bull are a classic example of being victims of their own success. Whether or not their front wing is legal or illegal the fact is that it is so efficient that it appears to only be useful when they are running in clear air, ie. out in front of everyone else. So if they find themselves stuck behind another fast car the turbulent air they find themselves in destroys the down-force and actually impedes the progress of the cars. Vettel obviously had a faster car than Alonso in Hungary but without team orders telling Alonso to let Vettel pass he was never going to be able to get by.
This is the same for all these F1 cars to some degree but clearly the RBs are affected more because of their superior aerodynamic efficiency.
The answer? Maybe the FIA should limit cars down-force augmentation devices to simple, one-piece wings with a maximum surface area, chord-width, etc., similar to those used during the Prost, Senna, Mansell days. Increase engine power output with turbos and go back to wider slick tyres. That will bring back seat-of-the-pants, wheel-to-wheel racing.
There are complaints that some circuits are rubbish because overtaking is impossible, and the Hungaroring is one of those. But I believe that most circuits have the potential for great racing and that it is the cars themselves which are the problem. F1 is quite rightly at the spearhead of racing car technology and development but it should not be at the expense of quality racing.

To the poster who complained about Bernie's money hunger.

1. You are RIGHT, FIA does make excessive amounts of money from F1. However Bernie is not FIA (anymore) he sold the majority of the shares if not all some years ago.
2. Mclaren should grow up. I used to be a McL fan then became a Kimi fan and now I kinda cheer for Seb and Marky Mark. McL, Benneton (Renault) and Ferrari have been legally cheating for years and using their enormous budgets to loosely interpretate (sp?) the rules. Now that they face the risk of a barren season despite 2 F1 Champions and Brittain's Fav LH they are trying to discredit RedBull to cover up their lackluster development of the 2010 car.

Firstly, they are called grid-walks. Common sense really as MB is walking down the grid which is conveniently located next to the pits.

Secondly, they are one of the best bits of the build-up. I agree that at times they may not be the most insightful pieces of journalism but...they are quite funny and it gives the viewer a sense of what it is like at the heart of the action.

Finally, if MB reads this: more Martin's Random People please!

I have to say, Jake you've grown in to your role very well and I love watching the shows. However, and i know this isn't your fault but it is a point that has to be made. I was stuck in traffic this weekend and didnt get in until the 18th lap.

When i turned the TV there wasn't a single replay of the start. A single mention of why we had a safety car. One replay of the pitlane incident. All in all you done your job very well. But Martin Brundle and the Director who chooses which incidents to show and replay done a very very poor job at the last weekend and left me feeling some what annoyed.

Hi Jake, I really love the F1 show on the 麻豆官网首页入口, however I always get a bit cloudy when i see Murray Walker, cos he always amazes me with his anecdotes and history snippets. Have been watching F1 since late 60's/early 70's mainly followed SEFAC. I went to Italy in '87 and was only given a free Ferrari factory tour, I still love F1 all the same, naughty or not - u know I think Eddie Irvine said same like Rubens while at SEFAC before, I can only suppose Enzo must have been a little autocratic, but then he certainly did try to make his passion felt throughout the team, part of his soul.

Give Murray et al a handshake from me a big F1 fan

Well I for one Jake willl now watch the CWG if you are presenting it. I wonder how many other F1 fans will tune in to see how you anchor that programme. If you can do anything to the games like you have to F1 you never know it ratings may shoot up (-:. Also good luck for the 2012.

Hi Jake, congratulations on third wedding anniversary.

When are they going to get rid of D.C. and get somebody not paid by one of the teams.
I know he is one of the last drivers to retire and probably knows more about F1 from a drivers point of view than anybody else.
The problem is he absolutely refuses to critisise anything to do with Red Bull or any of their drivers.
The best example was Webber running into the back of a Lotus when they were fighting for position. The Lotus should get out of the way of the Red Bull?

You and David have been a breath of fresh air to F1 coverage; we don鈥檛 need Eddie鈥檚 contrite, controversial and always ill informed comments which add nothing to my experience. Can you please share with Martin, my annoyance with Martin going on and on about the FIA (Ferrari International Assistance), this could not be further from the truth nobody gives the Ferrari team any favours. If Martin thinks they do he should list the favours. Just in recent years: if it was Ferrari with the diffuser rather than Ross Brawn they would not have been allowed to keep it. This year the flexible bit of wing on Red Bull passed all scrutineering and has give the team a massive advantage, however now that Ferrari have a modified front wing they will have another go at scrutineering. Mclaren was let off for allegedly having the Scuderia Ferrari manual and were in the end fined $100m for lying at the hearing afterwards. Martin, have your say??

As an absolute fan of F1, I am true to Ferrari, but not blind, I absolutely appreciate and have total respect for the other teams and drivers.

However, can you have one of your chats with Charlie to ask him how he and his team鈥檚 recent decisions have been arrived at?

Why was Alonso punished after he was pushed off the track when he was overtaking Kubica when Kubica did the same as Michael to defending his position by going to the edge of the track leaving Alonso like Rubens nowhere to go but off track? I know there was a wall but Rubens was always going to end up blindly in the pit lane exit, Rubens should have backed off.

Can Charlie explain why at the start of the German GP, Massa and I think Jenson and maybe some others went of the track on the left to hold or gain a position without any 鈥淔errari-Alonso鈥� penalty?

Can you Jake and David explain to little Rubens who keeps banging on about being second to Michael, that it was his choice. He took a large pay packet for six years and has done nothing but complain since. Can you point out that Alonso did not like how Ron treated him at Mclaren so without any complaints he packed his bags and went, this is known as being a man.

Michael is not the one on the F1 track with a grudge against Rubens, its Rubens who is still try to prove that 鈥� I could have been somebody鈥� if only. The truth is that there are only a few outstanding racing drivers who can drive, but they also have the ability to gain the teams confidence that the team will follow his thoughts. Michael steered Ferrari down the right path to success. Fernando has done the same with Renault, also with Mclaren( although they wont admit it) and is doing so with Ferrari. Vettel lifted the Torro Rosso team while he was there, while Webber was coasting around in the Red Bull. Now that Vettel has guided Red Bull to this awesome team, now Webber wants equal benefits from the Vettel effect as did Rubens as Massa does.

As a point of note although the media keep going on about the Ferrari days for Michael and Rubens, the men in charge were Ross and Jean. Rubens did not jump ship when Ross joined Honda but then bellyached about being again 鈥渟econd鈥� to Jenson. However, Rubens is clearly livid that the haunting Michael has taken his place again. Ban Rubens, he is the F1 danger man.

Please tell Steffano to have the rules changed before he changes driver position allegedly, it is easier.

1. Bernie has never been the FIA. The FIA are the governing body. FOM is Formula One Management which is what Bernie used to be.

2. McLaren being whingers. Please, Red Bull couldn't run fast enough to the FIA last year when they discovered the double diffuser and they also ran crying at the start of this year when they saw the F-Duct. McLaren hardly face a barren season - before the last race their drivers were 1 & 2 in the WDC & they were leading the WCC. Bored of people like you now.

hi jake i have a question thats's been in my head for the season, concerning red bull and their errrr fast car,

my question is all the cars have to have the same fuel(full) but surely red bull have a major heads up cause they are using energy saving fuel( i no what i mean) so then they won't have the same as the other cars so is there a certain weight all the cars should be for the race, or have they got it good cause their car is always going to be lighter hence faster,

A suggested future feature - OVERTAKING. We all want to see more overtaking. I recall vivedly the races with Senna, Prost, Mansell and so on and they overtook much more. How? Why? Much less aerodynamics I guess but was there also a larger differential in actual speed? What do the qualifying times for a race in the 70/80's look like in comparison to 2010? I would be V interested to know/see with MB's excellent commentary. What a racer he was and that brilliance has transferred to the TV exceptionally well.

If you qualify on dry or intermediate tyres and it is pouring down at the start of the Grand Prix, can you change your tyres to wets for the beginning of the race.

When we used to race in the wet on the Isle of Man, they used to tell us that their white lines (normal roads, remember) were a special non-slippy white paint.
We believed them............were we naive, and, if not, why don't they use it on F1 circuits?

i enjoy f1 but am fed up with presenters going on about why schumacher is not winning any longer. dont they realise that he no longer has the fastest car. button is a perfect example. where was he before he got one of the fastest cars (without a drive). most of the drivers would be capable of winning given the right car.

Jake you are doing a great job for F1, I watch the forum for the first time this weekend & it is really good. I was just wondering if you could do a show on the constructures like a factory vist with Jeson to mclaren, it would be great to see all the people and where they work and make things happen! Keep up the great job!
