Thursday 7 January 2010 - the plan so far

Verity Murphy | 13:45 UK time, Thursday, 7 January 2010

Here is what we are lining up for tonight:

We have an extraordinary film about child sacrifice in Uganda from Tim Whewell.

Tim has heard first-hand accounts which suggest ritual killings of children may be more common than authorities have acknowledged.

He has written a feature to accompany his film, which you can , and we also have a gallery of pictures taken by the producer and cameraman which you can .

We will be looking at the ongoing problems caused by the cold weather and have the latest on yesterday's attempt to force a vote on Gordon Brown's leadership.

And Stephen Smith will be reporting on Jonathan Ross' decision to leave the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú after 13 years.

More details later.

    OH GOOD GRIEF!

Should we not deal with the 'child sacrifice' in this country, before recording that of others, for the purpose of meeja moralising?

Children born today, IN BRITAIN, are offered up on the Altar of Mammon, unsuckled, un-mothered and unacknowledged as the infinitely sensitive innocents they are. This does not occur as an incidental aberration of extremists, but as STATE ABERRATION that is constantly further magnified and entrenched, for application BY LAW, TO ALL; the terrible error overseen by such empathic paragons of humanity as KNOW-ALL BALLS.

Camilla Batmanghelidjh struggles to tend the unending supply of British kids, their spirit 'ritually killed' by the evil of Britishness, and Newsnight finds some 'edgy' foreign horror to show.

I have no flourish to end with. All out of flourish.

Where is everyone today? Not at work? ; )

    Nothing surprises me about Africa.

36,000 more than expected old people died here last year because of cold, and lack of money for heating, I wonder how many it will be this year.

Jonathan Ross leaving I'm delighted, can't wait to have an intellectual on! But that's a mad wish these days, it might make people have to think! Hey how about Joan Bakewell, always thought she was probing.

ROSS - ICON FOR THE AGE.

I have written above regarding state-decreed sacrifice, to Mammon, of the souls of our young. The popularity of Ross, his highly paid 'status' with our national broadcasting service, and the tenor/content of his 'entertainment', shows poignantly, the 'success' of the state sausage machine.

Eh? Get that Wossy! I mentioned sausages!

Please keep the item about Jonathan Ross to a minimum - or get rid of it altogether. Any further air time given to him will be a waste of time and money.

    Wossy

On the radio driving home I heard mention it was 'not about the money (about to be cut by up to 25%) but it was maybe time to move on. Maybe he had his ears syringed for Christmas.

The commentator siad sotto voce, hat he HAS has a tough year. I almost crashed as I spluttered over that one.

By who's hand (Sorry, GOB) might that have come about. More likely, enough people have woken from their 13 years sleep to see him for what he was. A lucky, talentless toad who appeals mostly to those who are recovering from a night on the town. Or maybe the that audience is growing/sobering up and losing the will.

I am just musing where I might send my resume.

Sadly, I suspect the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú will merely endow some other talentless 'youn'n to fawn all over the latest wanna be or has been with a book, film, cd or kiss and tell tv show about to hit the airwaves.

    "On the radio driving home...."

This implies that we can drive here, have cars and roads. Also have those magic talking electrickery boxes.

We have over the last few days given the rest of the UK a mild example of the weather we have been experiencing since mid December, let's not let the side down.

There are no roads here, no supermarkets, we live in huts. There is no internet and we don't know what computers are.

Sorry you almost crashed, them ox carts are a handful on a rutted frozen track.

    From twitter, earlier:

@channel4news Everyone's talking about @Wossy quitting the Beeb... RT @bbcnews

To which I pleaded, to no avail: 'Please stop'

One might have thought a topic for tomorrow, but gazing at navels is so 'today'.

HARMAN FINED - DID NOT ATTEND COURT.

But if it had been some 'do' about women's rights under the law . . .

The Westminster mob still don't 'get it' She was quoted as saying: "You know where to find me" at the scene of the accident. Perhaps the voters will 'know where you stand' when it comes to voting, Harriet.
