Hi all!

This week the podcast presents our nerdcore special. Nerdcore is the hip hop genre where the nerds and geeks let their freak flags fly with pride. Covering topics from comic books, gaming, role play, anime, social awkwardness and being shy, nerdcore has a close community of performers, supporters and home grown music makers creating albums in their homes for distribution on the internet.

We love VB and soon you’ll see a coding spree
It’s not C sharp, we don’t like carp, so don’t you harp.

I actually find the associated news story irritating and ill-informed...partly because of the unnecessary and pretentious 'niche' itself... but also because most of the best MCs were/are basically geeks, they're just not nerds; obsessive wordplay, listening to a beat over and over to write lyrics around it, continuously upping the ante for the complexity of rhyme patterns, pop-culture references and the private, self-contained world of hip hop itself...are these things not 'geeky'?
