Thames Valley Police is appealing for help in tracing a woman who is missing from Didcot.

Michelle Bodman, aged 37, was last seen at around 09:00 on Thursday in Norreys Road, Didcot.

Michelle is white, around 5ft 1ins tall and of a stocky build. She has dyed purple hair and was last seen wearing a blue jacket, with black jeans.

She was carrying a white and black handbag and a large camping rucksack.

Michelle is known to frequent The Oracle in Reading, Didcot and Cholsey.

The planned date of the city's biggest running event coincided with the closure of the M27.

A 58-year-old suffered head and chest injuries and remains in a critical condition in hospital.

The proposed merger of Devon and Cornwall Police with the Dorset force is looking unlikely after councillors voted to support the Police and Crime Commissioner's opposition to the plans.

Last week, Alison Hernandez announced she couldn't support the proposal to merge.

At a meeting today, councillors on her Police and Crime panel voted to agree with her.

It looks like devolution is off the table for three councils in the south.

The Isle of Wight, Portsmouth and Southampton authorities had asked the government for a Solent combined authority in 2016 but it seems that's been rejected.

The proposed combined authority would have taken on responsibility for services currently managed by central government and received £900m of new funding over 30 years.

But Portsmouth South MP Stephen Morgan says he's received a letter saying the plan has been dismissed following opposition from Hampshire County Council.

He said: “This scrapping of our bid without notification is a kick in the teeth for Portsmouth and means our city missing out on millions in much-needed funding."

Two Hampshire councillors have been appointed to take seats on public bodies.

Rod Cooper, Conservative member for Farnborough West, will take the position of governor at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust.

Catherington member Marge Harvey being made a co-opted panel member on Portsmouth City Council's Health Overview and Scrutiny Panel.

Mr Cooper takes over the role from Farnborough North member Roz Chadd, whereas Marge Harvey replaces Purbrook and Stakes South councillor Gary Hughes.

Both councillors will sit on the committees until May 2021.

The proposed merger of Devon and Cornwall Police with the Dorset force is being discussed today at a meeting in Plymouth that could determine whether the plans go ahead.

Devon and Cornwall's Police Commissioner Alison Hernandez will ask the councillors who sit on her Police and Crime Panel whether they'll back her decision to reject the merger of the two forces.

Last week Ms Hernandez announced she couldn't support the proposal to merge.

However, because she was the only one of the four decision makers to take that view, she offered to put her decision off until she'd consulted the views of councillors on her Police and Crime panel.

That meeting is happening today and if the other councillors agree with her it's very hard to see how this merger could ever go ahead.

Two models from a "doomed" TV show from Thunderbirds creator Gerry Anderson are to be sold at auction.

The speedboat and sports car were produced for the 1973 show The Investigator, which never made it beyond a pilot episode.

The models, both fitted with Honda 50cc engines, are expected to fetch up to £8,000 each at auction on 10 October.

Mr Anderson's son, Jamie, said The Investigator had been "doomed to fail from the start".

It was seen as a rare failure for Anderson, who also created shows such as Stingray and Terrahawks which used "supermarionation" - a sophisticated form of puppetry. He died in Oxfordshire in 2012, aged 83.
