I have a pet tortoise called Joe,
yes he may be very slow,
but he has spectacular super powers
for example he can even lift up towers.

He can change his shape and his size
and sometimes can give you a scary surprise.
He can get hit by sharp spears and stay alive,
he can dive to the depths of the Mariana Trench and still survive.

But one day King Kong came to destroy our town,
when he crushed the first building it made a terrific sound.
He stomped forwards smashing tower after tower
when my super pet came with his super duper powers.

He turned into a mouse and scurried up to him,
the crowd said "Surely King Kong is going to win!"
But they did not know the mouse was special,
Joe was so furious, he was steaming like a kettle.

The hairy brute screamed "aah a mouse!"
and ran off like a baby, demolishing a house.
From then on we never saw him again,
King Kong being afraid of a mouse is totally insane!

He turned back into a tortoise as quick as a flash,
and dived into the river with a great big splash.
Then up he came blowing great big bubbles,
the crowd cheered this is the end of all our troubles.

Everyone was glad Joe had defeated the beast.
To celebrate, we had a massive feast.
There were sausages, potatoes, carrots and steak
and for pudding a massive gooey chocolate cake!

As a reward he got a nice cosy bed
where he dreamed exciting dreams that zoomed in his head.
Joe had passed his hardest test
but even super pets need a rest.
