Tony and Georgia Pankhurst

Property series. Joe meets Tony Pankhurst who has just helped buy his daughter Georgia her first property. He also heads to Lancashire to see a large scale project in Accrington.

Joe Crowley offers invaluable advice for viewers looking to rescue a house for themselves and finds out more about our housing stock, our heritage and why we should be both reinventing and preserving Britain's Empty Homes. The show features ambitious renovations and inspirational transformations, but also highlights the work carried out by the UK's Empty Property Officers, whose job it is to get unoccupied homes back into use.

In this episode, Joe meets dad and daughter Tony and Georgia Pankhurst. Tony's just helped buy air stewardess Georgia her very first property - an empty end of terrace house in Hastings. They're keen to share her plans to turn this run-down house into a modern and stylish home - and to get as much guidance as they can. To give Tony and Georgia tips and inspiration, Joe introduces them to a couple who have converted a similar property into a family home.

Joe also heads to Accrington in Lancashire, to see the large-scale conversion of more than 200 long-term empty homes to affordable housing. The aim is to kick start the regeneration of the entire area. And we follow empty property officer Matt Smith on his mission to save abandoned houses in Birmingham.
