Bhan na Sg矛re - s霉il air seirbheis a th' air a bhith riatanach dha coimhearsnachdan d霉thchail na h-Alba.

Throughout Scotland and particularly in the Western Isles, it was always a challenge in remote areas to get to shops to be able to get the various things needed for day to day life. From jars and tins, to jugs, banking services and even things as simple as onions, there has been the opportunity to deliver all of these to rural areas. Vans were commonplace, and there were even men on bicycles, such as the men who were knows as 'Onion Johnnies'.

We take a journey through the Western Isles and meet those who are still providing these lifeline services today, and also hear of the memories of many of the old days. We'll also consider what place these services have in today's world which has changed so much.
