Waterfall creatures

Some creatures are adapted to living in and climbing up waterfalls. In Malaysia, the big-headed turtle clambers up and around waterfalls using its tail as a prop. Meanwhile, in West African waterfalls, there lives the hairy frog. Its so-called hairs are actually filaments of skin on its flanks that act as gills, helping it to absorb oxygen from the water. It also has claws to help it grip onto slippery rocks.
