The paradox of crocodile conservation in Australia

Saltwater Crocodiles can reach seven metres long and weigh up to 1,000 kilos.

The crocodiles were once facing extinction, but now Australia is seeking to control their numbers.

Rajan Datar went to the Malcolm Douglas Wilderness Wildlife Park in Broome in Western Australia.

It offers a sanctuary for crocodiles rescued from the wild but it also has its own breeding programme. These crocodiles are culled and their skins sold to be made into luxury fashion items.
