How hard will the police budget be hit?
Jo Coburn looked at potential cuts to front-line policing with Conservative MP Tom Tugendhat and former chief crown prosecutor in north west England, Nazir Afzal.
Chancellor George Osborne is still in talks with Home Secretary Theresa May over cuts to her department, with expected cuts to police numbers.
Mr Afzal said police forces across England and Wales did not have the capacity for further budget cuts, and warned that any reduction in police numbers would put people at risk and undermine counter-terrorism efforts.
But Mr Tugendhat, MP for Tonbridge, Edenbridge and Malling, said it was everyone's responsibility to fight crime and extremism. He also said it was up to police forces to prioritise the allocation of their resources.
