Tory bullying claims: ‘Party needs to clean up their act’
The father of a Conservative Party activist who took his own life has called on the party’s chairman to consider resigning, following claims he knew about allegations of bullying within the party’s youth wing in 2010.
Ray Johnson’s son, Elliott, was 21 when killed himself in September 2015 after complaining of bullying.
A former activist, who says he was himself a victim of bullying, told 鶹ҳ Newsnight that a dossier detailing a culture of bullying within the youth wing was given to Lord Feldman five years ago.
Lord Feldman insists he was not aware of any complaints before August 2015.
Ray Johnson told Victoria that bullying “seemed to be an endemic culture within the Conservative Party” and that “they need to clean up their act.”
