Fi Buchanan
Teen Canteen is a massive challenge for Fi. She takes a group of school pupils who could barely cook and trains to a standard where they can cook and serve their food to the public.
Luckily, she has the perfect background for the job. Fi has over twenty years experience in the food industry - a decade of which was spent at her deli and catering company Heart Buchanan, on Glasgow鈥檚 fashionable Byres Road.
As the boss she had to anticipate the desires of a varied customer base and manage a huge team of chefs and front of house staff.
Managing a kitchen full of teenagers, to make sure that everything is made safely, on time and on budget is a big challenge. Not only that, but as Teen Canteen is run from the school鈥檚 kitchen after the catering staff have left for the day, the schedule has no margin for error.
It鈥檚 a huge undertaking but one that she relishes, she is passionate about good food and wants to pass that on to everyone.
