Most of the two million containers unloaded at Southampton every year head out of the port by road and rail to their final destinations. But not all of them make it out of the port straight away.

Sean Gigg is one of the Border Force team whose job it is to check the containers for illegal goods. They intercept and search any containers that look suspicious and have caught their eye.

The team uses a mobile scanner that produces an X-ray image of the contents of the container.

In the last year Sean and his team have found illegal goods and contraband ranging from kung fu weapons to knock-off clothes and shoes.
