Captain Miles Hesketh-Thorne
Miles is a deep hearted and caring surgeon but when he puts down the knife he’s quickly off in search of a good time.
The Hesketh-Thornes are the cornerstones of the medical establishment and Miles was always expected to follow the family trade of surgery. He wasn’t asked, he was just expected to do it.
He’s been granted every opportunity and privilege but he’s not interested in professional ambition, preferring to put all his energies in hot pursuit of wine, women and song.
Miles is a capable surgeon but more than that, he’s a brilliant doctor – his geniality endears him to staff and patients alike. He just can’t take himself seriously.
Thomas and Miles come from polar opposite worlds but their friendship feeds off their differences. Miles will seize every opportunity to tease his friend about his rather intense attitude to work and love, yet underneath it all, Miles will do anything to protect Thomas.
The arrival of the volunteers makes Miles’ day and his roving eye quickly falls on Kitty; she’s difficult, impervious to his flirting and it attracts Miles like a moth to a flame. But will he end up getting burnt?
