Good / Bad Winter?

If you are, like me , a winter sports enthusiast, the definition of what is a good or a bad winter is important. For skiers, mountaineers, hillwalkers and photographers, a good winter is a snowy one! The more the better!
So how is this oneshaping up? Early days yet I suppose, but so far it isnt as desperate for the ski resorts as it was last year...so far.
In fact last years biggest dump of snow fell in October which is seriously odd. Rest of the winter was very cold and very dry.
Hopefully there will be lots of fine days in the hills over the next few months - the season is desperately short really. Then the midges begin.........
