Viral Bhayani caught up with debutant director, Hriday Shetty
and other stars during Plan press conference in Mumbai.
Speaking about the film, he says, 'Plan is a story about
four guys who come from different Indian states'.
'They include Dino Morea (Bobby), Sanjay Suri (Lucky),
Bikram Saluja (Jai) and Rohit Roy (Omi)'.
Hriday
continues, 'They come to Mumbai city to make it big. They
all meet on a train and learn that they share the same ambition
- that is to get rich quick'.
'A strong bond develops between these men who decide to
kidnap a businessman for ransom. But unfortunately he turns
out to be the most dreaded underworld don – Sanjay Dutt (Mussa
Bhai)'.
Hriday
says 'This gives rise to many hilarious situations as all
four guys plead for their lives.'
Hriday further adds that the concept of this film was developed
by Sanjay Gupta during the filming of Kaante in Los
Angeles.
The
mahurat of the film was performed at the IIFA awards
in Malaysia earlier last year.
The
Plan is similar to Kaante in many ways. It is again
male-dominated with female stars adding to the characterisation.
Priyanka Chopra is a bar dancer. She
is cast opposite Sanjay Dutt while Isha Koppikar who plays
the role of a struggling actress in the film is cast opposite
Dino Morea.
As for Riya Sen, she plays the love interest for Bikram Saluja.
One more heroine is still being finalised.
Sporting
a new look with spiked hair and a small beard, Sanjay Dutt
looks every inch an underworld don.
He
does not play the typical Indian don. 'My role in Plan
is sophisticated and the film does not concentrate on the
underworld', says Sanjay.
Whilst
his character gets kidnapped by these four men, Sanjay learns
that there is a leak in his underworld organisation. So by
using these frightened young men, he tries to find the lapse
in security.
Being
in the Bollywood industry for 23 years, Sanjay does not find
it difficult to handle two different roles at the same time.
That of being an actor and a producer.
Having
said this, Sanjay has left all the production responsiblities
on Sanjay Gupta's shoulders.
