Emphatic from Haemmerle - he bided his time, he worked so so hard, and he's been rewarded with the gold.

It's a photo finish to see who has got gold - brilliant racing.

That was the best of Bruce Mouat. The GB skip didn't really hit peak form in the mixed doubles but that was a perfectly judged little tap out.

A couple of good shots and they're level.

That is some lovely granite.

Bruce Mouat is perfect for weight and line as he slides a stone up into the house and wipes out the Italian lead.

One thing you notice with Team GB is their constant communication all the way down the sheet.

Communication from the thrower, and then the sweepers talking all the way down.

It’s really impressive.

Bruce Mouat looking for a "bang on the beak". Which is not the sort thing to dodge in a pub car park at kicking out time, but a plant on the stone at the top of the house.

Final stones of the end to come

The last four left are Eliot Grondin (Canada), Alessandro Haemmerle (Austria), Julian Lueftner (Austria) and Omar Visintin (Italy).

One of these men will be Olympic champion very, very soon.

What a great, thrilling second semi-final. At one stage everyone of the four racers had a spell in the lead, but at the line, it's Julian Leuftner of Austria winning it and Italy's Omar Visintin is second to advance into the final.

They’ve still got a long way to go. Loads of time to get the scoreboard back in their favour.

They need to keep putting Italy under pressure and hopefully they will miss a few more difficult ones.

Our first semi-final sees Eliot Grondin of Canada and Alessandro Haemmerle of Austria take the first two spots and they advance to the final.

The body language among Great Britain's men is not great. The Italians by contrast are all smiles, back slaps and head taps after taking a point from the third end to push themselves two clear overall.

Eight men remain in the men's snowboard cross and the semi-finals will take place shortly.

Italy have always been the nearly men. Never quite winning enough to reach the play-offs consistently.

They are in a good spot and ever improving.

Italy are playing well here. Not fancied to go all the way. But then, they weren't in the mixed doubles and won every single game on their way to gold.

Great Britain halve the deficit after two ends. This is shaping up to be a doozie of a battle on the ice though.

Sweden hold on to get the victory against Latvia to secure three points in their Group C match.

Finland and Slovakia are the other teams in that group and they play at 08:40 GMT.

Later on today there's also action in Group A with the United States meeting China with Canada facing Germany (both matches beginning at 13:10 GMT)
