The Sense of Place competition for schools was a natural extension of the original radio programmes.
In association with 麻豆官网首页入口 Education, 麻豆官网首页入口 WM devised a competition for 9 and 10 year olds in primary schools.
Year 5 children were invited to produce an item of work using six key themes that characterise their own Sense of Place, linked to the current National Curriculum.
More than 40 schools across the region took part. Four schools from the Coventry and Warwickshire region entered the competition.
These were Oakfield Junior School in Atherstone, Goodyers End Primary School in Bedworth, Stoke Park Secondary & Community College and Stoke Primary School in Coventry.
The work could be submitted in the form of audio or words and pictures. Stoke Primary School and Stoke Park Secondary School collaborated to create a video about their schools. The other schools from the region submitted beautiful poetry and written work.
You can see some of the work on this website by following the links on the left or you can visit the exhibition at Millennium Point. Details of the exhibition are below.
The six themes were:
1. Our Super School 2. Traffic Trouble 3. Dear Diary 4. Settlement Special 5. A place for Poetry 6. Local Legend
