5 brand new songs you'll hear on Radio 1 this week (4/12/17)

Every week on Radio 1, our presenters choose one Tune Of The Week, a brand new song they love that they play on every show.

Here are the tracks you'll be hearing every day this week on Radio 1 daytime.

Adele Roberts, 4am

Isaac Gracie - Terrified

(Warning: Third party video may contain adverts)

Isaac Gracie is one of the UK's most exciting new singer songwriters, falling somewhere between Harry Styles and Tom Odell with his distinct brand of vulnerable and vintage sounding folk-rock.

Isaac has been tipped for big things in 2018, so expect to have your heartstrings tugged by this sensitive new star over the next 12 months.

Nick Grimshaw, 6:30am

Wretch 32 feat. Kojo Funds and Jahlani – Tell Me

(Warning: Third party video may contain adverts)

Wretch 32 is one of the UK's most respected urban acts and here he teams up with two rising UK talents for an all-star collaboration.

Built around a sample of Whitney Houston's It's Not Right But It's Okay and featuring vocal hooks from iconic hits by Shola Ama and Chaka Demus & Pliers, Tell Me is a spectacular mix of R&B sounds old and new.

Clara Amfo, 10am

Miguel – Told You So

(Warning: Third party video may contain adverts)

Miguel is probably best known for sexy R&B jams, but Told You So proves he's also a dab hand at pop bangers - and this is one of epic proportions.

Perhaps working with Dua Lipa on her hit Lost In Your Light left a lasting impression.

In a recent interview with NME, Miguel said he wants his music to "to reach the masses" after the critical acclaim for his previous album Wildheart, and with songs as big as this, he's well on his way to long overdue mainstream success.

Scott Mills, 1pm

Diplo featuring MØ – Get It Right

(Warning: Third party video may contain adverts)

The last time Diplo and worked on a song together it was Major Lazer's Lean On, which sold more than 13.1 million copies in 2015, becoming one of the biggest selling singles of all time.

So, no pressure for this one to perform then.

Fortunately, Diplo and MØ is a winning combination and Get It Right proves that lightning really does strike twice - the mix of Diplo's carnival beats and the Danish lilt on MØ's vocals is pure pop perfection. Here's hoping they keep making hits together."

Greg James, 4pm

Pale Waves – New Year’s Eve

Pale Waves are generating huge buzz as we race towards the start of a new year, and were recently included on the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú longlist.

There's a hint of The 1975 in New Year's Eve, which makes us wonder what's in the water in Manchester, since both bands hail from the same hometown.

The song is an intimate, reflective little pop gem, full of the right amount of charm, energy and a solid dose of self-doubt to propel the band to stardom in the coming year.
